This needs to be expanded to other media and decoration - like flags - and we
need to eliminate political advertising in any form whether sign, flags, etc...

I agree on eliminating political signs, flags, etc. Keep "For Sale", "For Rent" signs by owners & real estate agents. Estate sales: sign in yard day of sale with removal of sign at the end of day.
List of acceptable signage: FLAGS: US, State, University? SIGNS: School open house signs? Slow down? Do we need the city to install more signs showing speed limit, slow down, curve in an attempt to control the speed problem with residents and visitors?
Decorations only if they contain a political message.
What does everyone think? Any suggestions?

Decorations only if they contain a political message. What does everyone think? Any suggestions? I don't think any political messages. For Sale, For Rent, there should be the exception on the construction signs with a maximum of 3 days - 1 week on them. School open house, they are going to do them anyway, but can we limit that to 2 weeks tops? Allow the alarm company signs. No need to discuss Halloween/Christmas/Mardi Gras holiday decorations. Flags should be US and State only. I have seen what happens with neighbors in past. A Mardi Gras flag would be considered decoration.

I have commented on this and other parts of the Charter yesterday but my posts have not come up. I am frustrated. Will write down my comments because it is too complicated for me.

I agree. No political signs, flags or decorations. I agree with temporary placement of school signs or estate sale signs.

I disagree to limits flags to US flags. Some neighbors hang holiday flags. No political flags

We also need to specify no garage sales allowed

I agree holiday flags fall under decoration. I say no garage sales or signs. Do we address "no garage sales" in this section?

If someone has a garage sale and holds it inside their home, as some have been known to so and does not post a sign in timberlane - how can we deny this when it comes down to the same criteria as an estate sale?

Interesting. So, how does this person advertise the garage sale? Newspaper? I think the COG has to issue a permit, right?
